About Us
Signature Stone was officially founded on May 19th, 2009. It originated as Granite Works, Norfolk branch, in Nov. 2007. They teamed up with an existing granite shop due to the fact that you can’t learn the trade in a week long class. Together they spent 4 months working with the Omaha branch prior to and during Norfolk’s setup. Upon completion of the building in Norfolk, a stone fabricator from Omaha spent 6 months in Norfolk working side by side in the shop, as well as on install.
The benefits of this were endless as he has been in the stone business since the early 90’s and was fabricating when polishing was done with sandpaper and no pneumatic tools. Installs were done with the shop foreman from Omaha whenever possible, who was and still is a great asset in all phases of the fabrication-to-install process. Today, Signature Stone is owned and operated by husband and wife Craig and Bobbi Risor, long time residents of Northeast Nebraska.
Most days you will find Craig installing, fabricating or working on building projects. He aims to be the last person who touches your final pieces, making sure they’re up to par. Craig’s wife Bobbi works full days as an Emergency Manager, switches hats, and comes in to serve as Business Manager. She oversees the finances and makes sure the bills get paid on time since her business partner seems to find time for everything but this aspect. Together they make a dynamic team!
